KIK Horticultural Special Library (Kecskemét, Erdei Ferenc tér 1-3.)

The special library renewed in 2009 is awaiting readers on 280 m2, with 6 student computers and 30 seats. Its stock is over 24.000 documents including approx. 2.000 volumes of fiction. Document types: books, journals, textbooks, lecture notes.

KIK Technical and Economic Special Library (Kecskemét, Izsáki út 10.)

The special library renewed in 2009 is awaiting readers on 1.200 m2, with 56 student computers and 160 seats. The primary aim of the special library is to collect the special library related to the sciences taught and researched at the Faculty as best as possible and to make the text books and lecture notes available. Besides the special Hungarian literature the collection of the special literature – special books, journals, standards - written in foreign languages (mainly in English and German) is also significant.

Material knowledge, material examination, automation, CAD/CAM, electronics, machine components, machining technology, technical drawing, mechanics, rubber and plastics industry, production management, welding, heat treatment, metallurgy, microelectronics, robots, information technology, hardware, software, computer programs, programming languages, operational systems, data processing, computer networks, artificial intelligence, management, marketing, didactics, pedagogy, business economics, finances, philosophy, physics, chemistry, economics, mathematics, mechanics, sociology, quality insurance, psychology, product development. Besides these, we also have a collection of fiction. The stock of the library is around 70.000 documents.

KIK Pedagogical Special Library (Kecskemét, Kaszap utca 6-14.)

The special library with its stock of 55.000 items enhances learning, teaching, research and relaxation at the Teacher Training Faculty. The special library renewed in 2009 is awaiting readers on 450 m2, with 15 student computers and 50 seats.

Fields of collection

Pedagogy and psychology are the most important fields of sciences. Besides these philosophy, sociology, ethnography, natural sciences, arts: visual arts, music, furthermore, sports, linguistics, foreign languages: English, German, French, Italian, literature, history, child literature and fiction embody significant parts of the stock. The collection also contains the most important manuals necessary for kindergarten and primary school teaching practice beside primary school textbooks, workbooks and teaching aids. Apart from special journals, the most important newspapers and magazines can also be read here. The collection of items published before 1945 contains the most important special pedagogical books and periodicals from the second half of 19th century and the first half of 20th century.

Deposit libraries

At the faculties there are different depository libraries ministered by the special libraries. The aim of the depository libraries is to enhance the teaching and research at the different institutes and units. The stocks can be used by the employees or other libraries can book them via inter-library loan. Its stock can be retrieved in the KIK Library database.
